By popular demand, the MySQL Manager (available in the Control Panel under ‘Development Tools’->’MySQL’) has been updated to support more customizeable database names and MySQL usernames, as well as comments for each. This means that it will be easier to keep track of the purpose for each of your databases and users! If you have a suggestion for an improvement to our Control Panel, let us know!

Recently we implemented a new security update to PHP 5.2, fixing more than 50 bugs in PHP including several security problems. This was done as part of our ongoing commitment to the security of our servers and services.

We have also added some new PHP extensions for your use to our PHP 5 servers.  You may now use the mailparse extension (an efficient way to parse and work with email messages), and the fileinfo extension (used to automatically detect the type of a file). You can begin using these extensions immediately.

In an effort to improve the performance and reliability of Webmail and other email services, we have added a backup mail server to prevent emails from being lost, and moved SPAM and virus checking to a new server.

RoundCube webmail now allows attachments up to 100MB in size.
